Corset Making Course Feb/March 2019
Learn how to make your very own overbust corset in this hands on class in Linlithgow Bridge, Scotland.
An overbust corset making class, run over two weekends (local travelodge close by) 2324 Feb and 16/17 March……price includes all professional corset supplies you just need to purchase the fabric you want and get yourself ready for two full weekends of teaching and fun lots of parking available, all whilst working in our fabric heaven.
Kitty Flowers Corsets have been making and designing corsets for over 10 years, the most important thing about her corsets is that they are high quality and comfortable.
Each corset maker has their own method of designing and constructing and Kitty Flower Corsets would like to share their skills with you.
Over the course we will cover Patterns and their placement on fabric, Types of fabric to use, a little history about the corset and the construction of your corset. Throughout the course, depending on your level of sewing, you can make your corset as simple or as complex at you wish. we will supply you with all the: Bones, Busks, Bias binding, Eyelets, Laces required
You will need to bring:
2m of cotton (light drill or heavy cotton) for inner lining
1m Lining Fabric (I find quilting cotton is the best as it is soft and strong.)
1-2m of Outer Fabric )you can bring any fabric you feel may be suitable for the outside and we can see if it will work for you). You may want to stay away from thin, delicate, or large print fabric and get 2m if you have a tartan or a check. *
You can order fabrics from Harvey Jacobs – if you wish to do this please look at our website and place your order, when you check out on the website please add the order number of this course which will be emailed to you when you complete purchase and we will then refund 20% of your order of fabric when you add this note.
These corsets are not for waist training purposes.
We allow a maximum of 6 people on this class so that we can ensure you have as much help as required.
Course times are 9.30 prompt start, you may wish to arrive 5 to 10minutes before hand to give yourself time to settle and ends 4.30- 5pm. There will be a short break for lunch. Hot drinks and water are available on site via an honesty box system.
After the first weekend you may need to complete some work before the next weekend. You will be guided on this
If unfortunately you need to cancel this class, a 75% refund will be given if cancelled more than three weeks before the first class start date and no refund will be given if cancelled three weeks or less before the start date.
Once your order is placed we will email you requesting specific measurements so that we can draft your corset pattern for you. You will be able to take this pattern away with you to make yourself corsets from it in the future.
